MADIface USB: Flexibility and Performance without Compromise
The MADIface USB is a perfect addition to any MADI system, serving as a mixer, router, format converter, transmission splitter, and signal repeater. Versatile Operating Modes
The MADIface USB offers several operating modes when used with a Mac or Windows computer: 64-Channel Mixing Mode, Redundancy Mode, 128-Channel Mixing Mode, and a direct routing mode. The Disable TotalMix option completely deactivates TotalMix, the flexible internal mixer, and routing matrix of the unit. All input and output data is directed straight to recording/playback without mixing or routing involved, with mirrored outputs.

In the 64-Channel Mixing Mode, TotalMix displays 64 input, playback, and output channels, using the data from one MADI input port and sending identical data to both MADI output ports. The AutoSelect option enables automatic input selection, putting the device in Perfect Redundancy Mode. The MADIface USB will switch to the other input in real-time if the current one fails.

In the 128-Channel Mixing Mode, recording and playback are still limited to 64 channels, with the current input selected in the settings dialog. However, the other input is also available through TotalMix, and the output signal is not mirrored but separated, with TotalMix offering 128 output channels. Applications like independent mix output, monitoring, and serial passing of the second source are just a few clicks away.

Superior Compatibility and Control
SteadyClock and RME's renowned MADI compatibility ensure seamless operation with other devices. MIDI over MADI technology can be used for remote control of other MADI devices. DIGICheck, a complete audio analysis suite, supports users on both Mac OS X and Windows.

The interface comes with RME's unique software toolkit for measuring, testing, and analyzing digital audio streams. On Mac OS X, it provides unique spectral analysis features for data calculated at the hardware level, up to a sophisticated multichannel level meter.
