RME Fireface UFX III

Loaded with professional features, the Fireface UFX III includes SteadyClock FS, MADI I/O (64 channels), a powerful DSP, USB 3.0 (full compatibility with 94 I/O channels), TotalMix FX, direct USB recording, and support for advanced USB remote control (sold separately). The interface is built on a newly developed analog and digital board, offering updated high-tech functions and components.

Powerful USB 3 Performance
The front panel of the Fireface UFX III features four high-performance combo XLR/TRS inputs for microphone, instrument, and line signals, two stereo headphone outputs with a +19 dBu output level, MIDI I/O, and a USB port. In combination with the DURec (direct USB recording) feature, the USB port allows independent recording of selected input and output signals (up to 80 channels) to a connected USB storage device.

Back Panel and Full Connectivity
The back panel reveals the full connectivity of the Fireface UFX III, including another MIDI I/O, two optical ADAT I/Os, an AES/EBU I/O, and eight balanced analog line-level outputs (including stereo XLR monitor outputs). With the new Multi-Mode feature, the two ADAT I/Os can be used as separate optical SPDIF inputs and outputs in addition to the AES I/O. The Fireface UFX III also offers an optical MADI interface (SC) with 64 bidirectional channels. The Word Clock (BNC) connectors also function as additional coaxial MADI input and output if needed.

Comprehensive MADI Flexibility
The Fireface UFX III opens the door to numerous RME and third-party digital and analog I/O solutions. Expanding the number of analog channels, the ability to route/mix within the digital domain through multiple sources provides flexible options. Multiple external MADI devices can also be connected in series.

Powerful Applications for Mixing, Monitoring, and Measurement
The Fireface UFX III comes with the DSP-based TotalMix FX mixer, offering full routing and monitoring options, as well as the DIGICheck analyzer that allows for the precise measurement and analysis of digital data flow in both directions. TotalMix FX can completely replace an external mixer, enabling the creation of multiple latency-free monitor mixes with EQ, dynamics, reverb, and delay for any output, including main monitors and musician headphone mixes.

TotalMix Remote Control and DC-Coupled Outputs
TotalMix Remote is a remote control for TotalMix FX, controlling the mixer and effects in RME audio interfaces. The line outputs of the Fireface UFX III are fully DC-coupled, allowing the sending of control voltages (CV) or Gate information to modular synthesizers and other studio equipment.

USB 3 Audio Mode Class Compliant
The Fireface UFX III operates in two modes: USB 3 driver-based mode and class-compliant mode. The class-compliant mode is a standard natively supported by operating systems like Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux distributions, making all channels available without the need for proprietary drivers.

ARC USB Remote Control and DURec
The optional ARC USB connects to your computer via USB and communicates directly with TotalMix FX. DURec is a built-in digital recorder for all inputs and outputs directly to USB memory devices via the front USB port, turning the Fireface UFX III into a standalone field recorder and powerful multichannel player for previous recordings.
