Sountoys FilterFreak

FilterFreak faithfully recreates the sounds of classic analog resonant filters. Turn the frequency control to get smooth retro synthesizer sweeps. Increase the resonance to add a bit of edge, or even push the filter into self-oscillation. And when you crank it up, FilterFreak responds with a gritty, pleasing break-up, just like hardware.

While adjusting the controls is always fun, FilterFreak also includes rhythm and groove tools that automatically add movement to your tracks. Activate Rhythm mode and hit the MIDI switch to create auto-wah effects synced with your DAW.

Choose a simple note value, like eighth or sixteenth notes, select from a library of predefined rhythms, or even design your own rhythmic patterns with the Rhythm Editor. Then, to perfectly fit the melody, grab the Groove knob and add a bit of swing or shuffle to lock it in. For effects that move with the music, select Envelope or ADSR modes to trigger the filter with the incoming audio. You'll be amazed at how much a plug-in can transform the feel of your tracks.

In fact, FilterFreak includes two separate plug-ins: FilterFreak 1 and 2. Load FilterFreak 1 for a simple filter. But if you want more power, turn on FilterFreak 2. It offers two analog filters side by side, which can be used in series or parallel. The combination of two filters with FilterFreak's deep modulation options gives you a massive range of evolving sounds to explore.
